¡Hola!
My name is Lucy G. Turpin, I am an eccentric and provocative illustrator and writer from the Balearic Islands. Now mostly a comic artist and enthusiastic.
As an unconditional fan of improvisation, I work on several projects at the same time, but this doesn't stop me from finishing a few things from time to time.
My creations are mostly inspired on anecdotes and everyday situations of sophisticatedly vulgar people.
MY COMIC BOOKS
At present I find myself working on a project called “Days with fever”, a full color comic, 90-100 pages long, divided in four chapters. “Days” is a comic born of a humble desire to understand how my father’s character has been forged and to share different views on the ideas of family and home, all through the lenses and possibilities of real life events mixed with fiction.
The story is centered around a man entering his fifties who has been left alone in the suburbs of an island of the Mediterranean sea. He has nothing to call his own and, upon Christmas season, a desire for eternal sleep haunts his mind. As the temperature of his body rises, the ghost of his last English teacher and a boy bearing the name of a famous playwright will bring him the question: Can creativity help us live a better life? “Days” feeds from Cyril Pedrosa’s Portugal intimacy and way of portraying a main character with vital discomfort who needs to start something new.
